Captions insideyour editor.
The Captik panel docks in Premiere Pro, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. It transcribes your timeline and puts the captions back on it, as layers you can edit or as an exact burn in of the preview.
One setup file, captik_plugin.exe. The panel, the caption fonts and the export presets all land where they belong. Nothing to set up by hand.
These are for Premiere Pro and After Effects. DaVinci Resolve has its own installer: get it below.

Pick a template in the panel and the captions arrive in your editor's own form, so you keep editing them like anything else on the timeline.

Editable caption graphics
13of 104 templates editable
The other 91 come out as a burn in.
One caption graphic for every line, with its words, font and colours editable in the Essential Graphics panel. A template one line of text can’t reproduce, like a giant word with small rows around it, comes out as a burn in.
Find it in Window → Extensions → Captik.
Every host can also burn in an exact copy of the preview. The 41 scene templates, where the words are part of a designed scene around the speaker, come out as a burn in only.
Four waysout of the panel.
The same captions and the same template, as whichever result your edit needs.
Editable template
Native layers in your editor: text layers in After Effects, Text+ titles in Resolve, caption graphics in Premiere Pro.
Burn in
Your clip with the captions drawn in, matching the preview exactly. Rendered in the cloud, or on your own PC on Windows.
Transparent overlay
A .mov in ProRes 4444 with alpha. It sits on the track above your clip, and the footage underneath stays untouched.
SRT captions
Add SRT captions puts a native caption track on your timeline. On paid plans, and it uses no export minutes.
Your font,not just ours.
Every template installs with its own fonts. When your brand has a font of its own, pick it in the panel.
Installed on your computer
Pick any font you have installed.
It works in the editable layers in After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. The cloud does not have your installed fonts, so for a cloud render, upload the font file instead.
A font file
Upload it once, use it anywhere.
An uploaded font goes into burn ins and overlays everywhere, cloud renders included.

One installer for Premiere Pro and After Effects, one for DaVinci Resolve Studio, and a script for free Resolve or a Mac.
Premiere Pro and After Effects
Windows or macOS. Premiere Pro or After Effects 2022 or newer.

- 3Open Window → Extensions → Captik.
- 4Sign in with your Captik account and press Generate.
On a Mac, unzip the download, then right click Install Captik and choose Open. Or paste this in Terminal:

Scripts folder on Windows
%APPDATA%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Scripts\UtilityScripts folder on macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Scripts/UtilityPrefer a manual install?
Download the signed com.captik.panel.zxp and install it with the free Anastasiy's Extension Manager. Then install the caption fonts from the panel's fonts folder. The setup file does this for you; a manual install has to do it once.
Troubleshooting
- The panel does not appear under Window → Extensions
- Fully quit and relaunch the app after installing. The panel needs Premiere Pro or After Effects 2022 or newer.
- After Effects cannot export audio or video
- The panel sets up the output module for you (After Effects 2019 or newer). On the rare build that rejects it, create an Output Module template named Captik Audio (Edit → Templates → Output Module, Format WAV, Audio Output On), and Captik Video for burning in.
- Inserted layers use the wrong font
- The installer bundles every template font. If one was skipped, run the installer again or install the fonts from its fonts folder, then restart the app. If you picked a font of your own, check it is installed on this computer.
- Want captions without a render?
- Use Add SRT captions in the panel. It puts a native caption track straight onto your timeline, fully editable. On paid plans, and it uses no export minutes.
- Reporting a problem?
- Include the version line from the bottom of the panel (the panel build and the host version) so we can reproduce it.
